Placement. The best reef-tank location for a bubble coral is at the bottom of the tank, with its skeleton buried partially in the substrate. It is possible to position a specimen on the rockwork higher in the tank, but this presents a few challenges.

You can add up to 40 corals at once. Corals don’t add much pollution to your tank and therefore have a low bio-load. Monitor the water parameters when adding a lot of coral at once: it should remain stable. It’s better to add coral in smaller batches to see how they respond to the new conditions.

The fleshy polyps of Bubble Corals are very fragile and will puncture easily. Be careful when handling these corals, to only handle them by the hard skeleton. Because they can form long sweeper tentacles, be sure to provide plenty of room to prevent damage being done to its neighbors.

Bubble corals also appreciate a moderate amount of water movement. By “moderate” I mean it should get just enough turbulent current so that its vesicles sway and jiggle gently on a continuous basis, keeping them free of debris.

How do you attach coral to a rock?

Apply Glue and Putty to the Frag Plug First, make a ball of putty large enough to fill the gap in the live rock but small enough to limit the amount of excess left over. The putty will fill in any nooks and crevasses in the rock and create the seal. Apply glue to the plug, and stick the soft putty to it.
