What is the purpose of an EMC filter?
EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) filters are used to ensure that electrical and electronic equipment does not generate, or is not affected by, electromagnetic disturbance.

What are EMC line filters?
By having what is termed a low pass filter as the EMC filter, only the low frequency signals are allowed to pass, and the high frequency interference signals are removed. These EMC filters can be in one of a variety of formats. Often they may be as simple as a resistor or a ferrite placed around a wire or cable.
