Inter-city rail with top speeds between 90 and 125 mph (140 and 200 km/h) is sometimes referred to in the United States as higher-speed rail. Amtrak’s Acela (reaching 150 mph, 240 km/h) is the US’s only high-speed rail service.
Why is there no high-speed rail in the United States?
