Electricity. There are no regional or territorial electricity grids in Nunavut. All electricity generation is community based. Because of long distances to neighbouring provinces and territories, there are no transmission lines to enable the trade of electricity between Nunavut and other jurisdictions.

Where do you get your electricity? All electricity in Nunavut is supplied by Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC), which is a territorial corporation owned by the Government of Nunavut. All of the power supplied to Nunavummiut comes from stand-alone diesel generators located in each community.
